Step 2: Automatic Deadline Monitoring

A daily cron job runs each morning and checks your commitment log:

  • Due today: “You promised Sarah the project brief today. Have you sent it?”
  • Due tomorrow: “Mike’s budget review is due tomorrow. Need a reminder before you forget?”
  • Overdue: “You promised to review Mike’s budget proposal — it was due on the 12th. Do you still need to do this? Want to send a revised timeline?”

Step 3: The Recovery Message

Limitations

  • Social awkwardness still exists. OpenClaw can draft a recovery message, but you still have to send it. The accountability is personal.
  • Not a task manager replacement. This is specifically for commitments made to other people — the social contracts where dropping the ball has relationship consequences. General task management belongs in a proper task app.

The core problem here isn’t complexity — it’s persistence. Commitments fail because nothing is watching. Your calendar doesn’t know about them. Your task manager might, but it doesn’t apply social pressure.
