Define Recurring Maintenance
Tell OpenClaw your maintenance schedule and it creates cron reminders:

What You Need to Set This Up
- OpenClaw running on a server or always-on machine
- A maintenance directory with your inventory files (YAML for appliances, markdown for history)
- Telegram channel for reminders and on-demand queries
- A few initial setup sessions — walk OpenClaw through your appliances, purchase dates, and any existing service providers
The setup takes about an hour on a new home. After that, maintenance becomes a matter of responding to reminders and logging service calls.
Limitations
No automatic sensor data — OpenClaw can’t know your furnace filter is clogged. It tracks the schedule (90 days) but relies on you to confirm when you’ve actually done the task.
Warranty date accuracy — the alerts are only as good as the dates you entered. If you don’t know a purchase date, you can estimate from serial numbers or receipts, but it’s imperfect.
Not a substitute for professional inspections — the reminders keep you on schedule, but a licensed inspector catches what scheduled maintenance can’t (gas leaks, electrical issues, structural problems).
Home size matters — this is most valuable for homeowners with multiple systems. Apartment renters with a single fridge and no HVAC have less to track.
