How It Works
You tell OpenClaw about your known subscriptions (or it discovers them from your email receipts). It builds a registry:
“Add these to my subscription registry: Netflix at $15.99/month, Spotify Family at $16.99/month, iCloud 200GB at $2.99/month, Adobe Creative Cloud at $54.99/month, and a gym membership at $49/month that’s charged to my Chase card.”
OpenClaw tracks these. Every two weeks, it checks known upcoming renewal dates and flags anything due soon. Every month, it reviews for price changes — and notifies you if something went up.

Annual vs. Monthly Optimization “You’re paying $14.99/month for Notion. The annual plan is $96/year — equivalent to $8/month. Switching would save $84/year. Want me to compare this for your other subscriptions too?”
Duplicate Services “You have both Dropbox and Google One. Both are doing file sync. Consolidating to one saves $120/year.”
A Practical Example
You get a notification:
“⚠️ Spotify Family renews in 5 days ($16.99). However, you only have 2 of 6 family slots filled. Your daughter moved out and her account is now separate. If you downgrade to Duo ($6.99/month), you’ll save $10/month — $120/year. Also, your annual plan option is $66/year ($5.50/month). Even at Duo annual, that’s cheaper than your current monthly.”

Setting It Up

This runs on the 1st and 15th of every month — right before most billing cycles hit.
Step 3: Set price alert thresholds Tell OpenClaw: “Alert me if any subscription price goes up by more than 10% or if any service I haven’t used in 30 days tries to renew.”
What You Need
- OpenClaw with access to your communication channel (Telegram, etc.)
- Your subscription list — either shared directly or parsed from email receipts
- Optional: Email access — OpenClaw can scan for new subscription confirmations automatically
- A partner service — for actual cancellations, you’ll need something like Rocket Money, DoNotPay, or manual login. OpenClaw handles detection and recommendation; you still decide and act on cancellations
What OpenClaw Doesn’t Do (Yet)
OpenClaw is your auditor and advisor — not your executioner. It won’t cancel services on its own (unless you explicitly authorize it). It won’t log into your accounts to cancel for you. It monitors, alerts, and recommends. The final call is yours.
This is intentional. Subscription cancellation often requires navigating retention flows, confirming identity, or dealing with “we’re sorry to see you go” loops that benefit from human judgment.
